Hello!
One of my favorite things about Christmas is all the festive decor! I already showed you how I decorated my studio for the holidays with purchased items, but today I’m showing you how to decorate with DIYs! Plus you guys have been asking for some decor DIYs for a while, and after seeing some pieces and being inspired I have 3 for your today! I’ve wanted to do a wood DIY for so long, so I’ve done a sparkly deer wood plaque, urban outfitters inspired sprinkle tree ornaments and a trio of Christmas trees! Watch the video below to see how you can recreate these holiday pieces, and if you DO recreate them, please send me a picture on instagram (@claudiaa_) OR twitter (@ClaudiaaNorris) I’d love to see! There is also a list of supplies used for the DIYs below the video!
Supplies:
Sprinkle Ornaments:
– Foam Balls
– Multicoloured sprinkles
– Glue (I used Marquee Love glue from Heidi Swapp)
– 1 sponge brush
– Pins
– Bowl
– Ribbon
Deer Head Plaque:
– Piece of wood
– An animal head stencil OR a picture you turn into a stencil, I used THIS picture as my stencil
– White paint (Or background color of your choice, wood stain would work too!)
– Paint in the color of your choice (I chose pink – Martha Stewart “Blushing Bride”)
– Glitter in the same color as your paint (Again, I used pink – Martha Stewart “Cotton Candy)
– A cutting mat
– Exacto knife
– 2 sponge brushes
– Sand paper (optional, but totally helps with the polished look of the finished product)
Trio of Trees:
– 3 foam cones
– Yarn in the color of your choice (I used red and white)
– Paint in the color of your choice (I used the same Martha Stewart “Blushing Bride” paint)
– Fine glitter in the same color as your paint (Again, I used Martha’s “Cotton Candy”)
– Chunky glitter in the same color as your paint (I used American Crafts WOW! Glitter in “Cotton Candy” Chunky)
– Glue (Again, I used Marquee Love from Heidi)
– 1 sponge brush
Of course for all of these DIY’s you should have a surface to put your paint and glue on (I used paper plates) and make sure it’s on a surface that you don’t mind getting dirty! Newspaper is always good to lay down and work on if you don’t have many options. Which DIY was your favorite? I’d love to know, so or tweet me @ClaudiaaNorris or leave me a comment!
Love,
Claudia ♥︎
