Hello, happy Tuesday!
It’s no secret I love glitter, and it’s no secret I love fall. SO put those together and you have one happy Claudia! Glitter is nothing new, and as a makeup artist I’ve been working with it for years. There is nothing that will amp up your look more than a touch of sparkle, and heading into the cooler months is the best time to incorporate it. I tend to stay away from sparkle in the summer since sweating glitter isn’t super cute, am I right? So many brands, influencers and magazines have been talking about ways to add glitter to your look like glitter roots from Elle UK, glitter brows & beards from Marie Claire, and Vogue even put together a whole list of brands that used glitter beauty looks on the runway. Glitter eye makeup especially has been all over the runways this season, and sparingly used, it can really amplify your look. My personal favorite way to incorporate some sparkle into an every day look is glitter eyeliner which I’m sharing with you today!
There are so many great products out there to achieve glitter eyeliner from drugstore to high end, but these are my three favourites!
1. Using a pre-made glitter liner is probably the easiest. Many companies have a version of glitter liner, but my favorite is the MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner which comes in gold and silver, and is occasionally released in limited edition colors.
2. Putting a glitter adhesive base all over the lid like Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue from Too Faced, using an angled brush dipped in glitter to press the glitter into the lash line is another great way to achieve this look. The Glitter Glue will hold the glitter in place at the lash line, but it will also act as a primer for any eyeshadow you choose to add to your look… best of both worlds!
3. Create your own glitter liner! My favorite way to do this is by using MAC Mixing Medium Eyeliner and mixing in the glitter. This forms a type of glitter gel that you can then use as liner! Once the Mixing Medium is dry the glitter won’t move anywhere, which means you have a bit of time to build the glitter up and play around with it, but it won’t budge or fall anywhere during wear!
Those are my favorite wearable ways to use glitter* on the eyes for fall. Let me know how you like to wear glitter in the comments or by tweeting me! And make sure to subscribe to my newsletter so you don’t miss any of my posts, and follow me on social media to stay up to date!
Love,

*I want to remind you to only ever use cosmetic glitter on your face, never craft glitter! Cosmetic glitter is made of special plastic that is non-toxic, so you’ll be okay even if you ingest a tiny bit. It’s colored with pigment rather than dye, so that the color won’t leak out and stain. Cosmetic glitter is much finer than craft glitter with individual particles usually in a round shaped rather than hexagonal, so they have very few to no sharp edges. It’s also made differently, with super-high cleanliness standards. That being said nothing is ever 100% safe, and you should always use glitter at your own risk. I’ve never personally had an issue with it, and while I worked at MAC I never heard even one horror story about it. Using the right tools and products will help lower your risk as well, so glitter away baby!
