Happy Thursday!
I haven’t done a MAC haul in a hot second even though I’ve been picking up some new pieces here and there over the last few months. They have been releasing about 1-2 new collections/products a month (do they think we’re made of money?!) and I’ve really been trying hard not to buy everything. But of course we know my willpower is not great when it comes to MAC products, and this is the result! I’m sharing everything I got from the MAC x Chris Chang, Pro Longwear Waterproof Colour Stick, Vibe Tribe, Soft Serve Shadows & MAC x Brant Brothers collections. When I asked you all on twitter to vote for a MAC haul video or blog post, majority wanted a video but I just did a HUGE makeup haul video and I might have another one coming up so I wanted to do a quick (lol “quick”) blog haul instead. I have pictures, swatches and mini reviews for these products and collections so grab some tea and get comfy! These are all limited edition products and collections so if there is something that catches your eye go get it now!
P.S. Don’t forget to enter my 10K Giveaway!
I picked up two lipsticks in Plum Princess (Matte) & DDDevilish (Matte) and the repackaged Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder Pressed from the MAC x Chris Chang Collection. You can get the Prep + Prime powder all the time in normal MAC packaging, but both of the lipsticks are limited edition.
Plum Princess Lipstick (Matte) is so beautiful! I don’t think I’ve seen a grey based lilac purple like this color… ever! It is definitely unlike anything they have in their permanent collection, and I’m obsessed. It’s a fun way to mix the neutral/90’s “nude” lip that’s so in with a bolder pop-y color for summer!
DDDevilish Lipstick (Matte) is super pretty also, but if you have Candy Yum-Yum or Pink Pigeon (from MAC) you could skip this one. It’s a blue based hot pink, and even though I probably have 10 like it, I got it because of the packaging. Cause… duh.
Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder Pressed is exactly what you think it is, a transparent pressed finishing powder. I’ve been wanting to try this powder for the longest time (I’m a big fan of both the Studio Fix & Blot MAC powders) and this packaging was the best excuse! I swatched it heavy in the photo (otherwise what is the point haha, it’s translucent!) but it doesn’t look white on the face.
Pro Longwear Waterproof Colour Stick Collection had 21 new and limited edition colors launch, and I picked up 6, which is pretty good for me! I stuck with mostly neutrals except one purple shade. These glide on so smoothly and have a super creamy consistency, but once they’re dry they don’t go anywhere! I haven’t tested the “waterproof” part with actual water but I can tell you they need an oil based makeup remover to come off. I really hope MAC makes these permanent because they’re so great. They’re perfect to put all over the lid alone, or under shadow as a base. This isn’t the first time MAC has brought out a “jumbo” eyeshadow stick, and I hope it’s not the last because they haven’t disappointed me yet, and I think these would do well as a permanent product! (Numbers correspond to swatches below)
1. Creme-Filled is my favorite of the bunch, and the one I know I’ll get the most use out of since it’s a beautiful shimmery champagne color.
2. Bleached Out Beige is a shimmery almost metallic true gold shade.
3. At The Beach is a mostly matte with a hint of sparkle tan nude. I think this one will be great as a base for a more nude toned matte eye!
4. Tea Leaves is a gorgeous taupe-y brown bronze shade with a hint of gold sparkle/shimmer. Perfect to use on the lash line as a smudgy liner, or blended out as a crease color!
5. Lilacked is the prettiest purple mauve with a pink gold shimmer shift. In some light it looks more gold, some light it looks pink and in other lights it looks like a matte purple! Such a unique and pretty color.
6. Silver Coin is the most beautiful sparkly silver metallic. It looks like liquid silver, and it’s one of my favorite colors to wear on the eye. If you only get one I recommend this one!
Vibe Tribe Summer 2016 Collection has some of the cutest packaging ever, and the whole collection felt summery and fun. Some of the products were re-promotes (the bronzers, some of the eyeshadows) but majority was limited edition… all the products I picked up were limited; all of the brushes (in special packaging), one lipstick, one patent polish lip pencil and the Gleamtones Powder.
Hot Chocolate Lipstick (Satin) is a pretty brown shade with a purple undertone, and again there is nothing too similar in the permanent collection to this shade. I love the satin finish because you get the staying power of a matte but with a more comfortable wear. I’m so excited to wear this shade this summer, again it works so well with the brown 90’s inspired lip!
Teen Dream Patent Polish Lip Pencil is a summery orangy coral and this formula is one of my favourites. These have tons of moisture, and leave your lips feeling soft and hydrated, and you can choose how intense of a color you want. You can have a touch of color with one swipe, or build it up for an intense punch. They last a pretty long time for a balm type product and feel so comfortable and hydrating.
Dunes At Dusk Gleamtones Powder is a product MAC has never released before! It has four shades in one and can be used as a highlighter, blush or bronzer depending how you mix it/pick it up with your brush. It can also be used as eyeshadow. The colors individually are beautiful, and it is also stunning mixed together. It is a versatile, wearable product, and come on, it’s so cute!!
MAC 226/228 Double Ended Brush: the 226 eye brush is permanent on it’s own, but 228 is limited to this double ended duo. I’ve never seen MAC have a double ended brush so I really wanted to pick this one up.
MAC 127SE is a medium sized fluffy brush, perfect for powder or blush. Again one of my favourites and permanent, and I highly recommend it!
MAC 125SE is a fluffy, flat limited edition contour brush which fits perfectly in the hollows of your cheeks for bronzer or contour.
Soft Serve Shadow Collection is probably my favorite out of all of the ones I’m talking about… I am obsessed!! These are basically a dupe for the very pricy Chanel D’Ombre Eyeshadows that I love, but mixed with MAC’s L.E. Electric Cool Eyeshadows, my other favorite eye product! They’re so soft and bouncy and glide on like a dream yet stay put! They’re super shimmery and sparkly but have no fall out because of their constancy. They’re great to use alone or as a base under a shadow or loose glitter, and blend together smoothly. Please go pick these up… they came out with 12 in total so you’re bound to find something that catches your eye! (Numbers correspond to swatches below)
1. Best Make Up is a a light white/yellow toned champagne shimmer. Once again, the light champagne color is my favorite!
2. Plead Gilty is a light yellow toned gold with a very glittery finish.
3. Cushy Life is a peach toned shimmery gold.
4. Must Be Lust is a sparkly almost copper. It isn’t as orange as a typical copper, but leans towards it.
5. So So Saucy is a shimmery light-medium mid-tone peach warm a gold shift and a frosted finish.
6. Bounce Around is a sparkly taupe-y purple. In some light it looks light purple, and in others taupe.
7. Put Me To Shame is a shimmery true chocolate brown with a golden sparkle.
I wasn’t going to get anything from the Brant Brothers collection until I stumbled across it in stores… the sleek shiny and matte black packaging got me! I only got three things from this collection, the Pro Sculpting cream duo, the 163SE brush and the eye kohl.
Paragon Eye Kohl is a (you guessed it) light gold toned shimmery champagne… very similar to the Creme-Filled Pro Longwear Color Stick, they’re basically the same color, but so different I had to get them both! LOL
Tryphaena & Cleopatra Pro Sculpting Cream Duo is a gorgeous cream highlight and contour duo, perfect for my ghostly skin! The highlighter color is a beautiful white with gold shimmer, and the contour color is a beautiful milk chocolate that isn’t muddy or “dirty” looking. I’ve been getting really into cream highlighter and contour and (as far as I know) both these colors are exclusive to this collection, but may have dupes in the MAC Pro permanent line.
MAC 163SE Brush is a flat, sharp contour brush perfect to use with cream contour or bronzer… what a perfect addition to this collection haha! This is such a great brush though, and the matte black handle looks so sleek. This brush is different from the 125 Brush because the 125 is less structured, more fluffy and duo-fibre, and is better for powder products, where the 163 is better for cream products. It’s limited in the matte black but permanent in normal packaging.
So that is everything I’ve gotten from MAC in the last few months! Have you indulged in any of these collections and picked up some pretty products? Let me know in the comments or a tweet, I’d love to know! I hope you enjoyed this blog post haul – yay for the almost weekend!! Again, if you made it this far, go check out my giveaway and enter! YAY!
Love,
